Hello forumites and seniors,

Please, I need clarification as regards proof of fund. I am an FSW applicant, and my visa office is CPP-O. I just received Medical Mail, and instructions to pay right of permanent residence fee for myself and spouse. But there is also an instruction as follows; Updated evidence of settlement funds (showing 6 months deposits/ withdrawals history) for yourself and your spouse, which indicates a minimum of $17,011 CAD.
My questions is as follows;
1. Is it that the deposit and withdrawal transactions history in the account should be $17,011?
2. I have got a UK bank statement (I also used a UK bank statement when submitting initially) that has over six months transactions, showing deposit and withdrawal, but the transaction is not up to $17,011, however the closing balance will be $21,000. Which I want to send to CIC, can I present the bank statement?

Responses from forumites will be greatly appreciated.

See the same example with numbers:

a)Assets:
•$15,000 CAD (bank account)
•$65,000 CAD (house jointly owned by me and my dad)
TOTAL: $80,000 CAD

b)Liabilities
•25,000 CAD (house mortgage jointly take my me and my dad) payable in the next 20 years
TOTAL: $25,000 CAD

My question is what will be my settlement funds:
i)$25,000 CAD (bank account)
OR
ii)$55,000 CAD (Net Funds)
OR
iii)$-10,000 CAD (bank account - House mortgage)

Settlement fund = bank account only = 15,000

If you get a request from the visa office for "updated" proof of funds it means for the most recent 6 months.

Can I show only Bank certificate+investment certificate for settlement fund?

If you can cash out the investments at any time then yes it would be accepted.

What kind of account is it?

For example if it is a typical brokerage account where you can trade stocks and bonds and mutual funds, then it should be very clear that you can liquidate those investments whenever you wish.

If it is some kind of government account, provident fund, company pension or something that the reviewer may not be familiar with, I suggest explaining it.

Dear Sir,

My wife is principal applicant and i am spouse but funds which i have are saving certificate which are on my name. Should i use as proof of fund or i need any certificate.
