Hi-

I’ve a 4yr university graduate degree. During the same period, i did a 1 yr French languague certificate program from a different department of the university. Will it help me to qualify for ‘2 or more degree/diploma/certificate’ category?
Think Language certificates are vocational courses so they don't qualify for 2 or more certificates :)

If you are under two or more option that means while creating the EE profile, under education detail you will create two log lines right? (Add line) Both selecting bachelors degree for ECA option if your Wes credentials are bachelors degree three years and bachelors degree four years.

Hello All,

I am not qualifying for the Express Entry program as I do not cut the cut off for the draws. The only two things that I can improve on for increase in score are,
1) better my IELTS score
2) go for a PG (as I am a graduate only)

For the second option, my question is,
1) Does a Technology Specialization Certificate course from any Canadian University into help out for gathering more points.
2) There are universities in Canada, which are offering PG courses of 1 year in some niche technical domains as AI, Data Sciences. Would they help in gaining any additional points for Education.

Or is it that only the traditional MBA's, MS's only cut for this qualification? Please share if we have any links for references for the same.

Thanks Much

Hello guys,

Please help
Should I send the Technical Baccalaureate (3 years) degree and Bachelor degree (4 years) to WES? Will it help to earn more points?

Hi ,
I have my first degree (+3) and I'm planning to earn a second one ,

I would like to ask about the difference between :
Postgraduate Certificate ( 60 ETC credits)
Postgraduate Diploma ( 120 ETC credits)

Will both count as a second degree-diploma ? Specifically , will the certificate also count ?

I did a postgraduate certificate and it was counted as a second degree but there are others for whom it did not count as second degree. So it all depends on case by case basis.

I would suggest you go for a PG Diploma and opt for IQAS. They are a bit more lenient and there's a 50-50 chance your diploma will be considered as a second degree.

Do not go for WES because they will only 100% give you one semester equivalency.

What is the criteria of deciding what a certificate worth ? if the website says : two degrees , diplomas , or certificates .

Is this based on credites ? length ? university ?
My certificate will be 1 year / 60 ETC / from a UK university (online ) .
I think I will go for the whole master if there is a doubt that the certificate or the diploma will not count .(I don't prefer this because it will cost me 1 additional year ) .

120 UK credits will be equal to 30 Canadian credits which is 1 year full time. So if you wanna be certain, then choose this course.

Hello everyone,

I am a bit confused about how this two or three certificates option will be interpreted. I have a 4 year bachelor's degree and now I am planning to pursue MCA by gaining entry laterally into the 3rd year. At the end of it, I will have a Master's certificate for a year. Will this fall under two or more certificates or Masters?(pls note I am from India)

Hello all, I have been doing some research on this topic. when someone is eligible for "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees."

as they clarified but still confusing
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/education-assessed/read-report.html

My interpretation : I think here they want to tell us that, any certificate, diploma or degree done after graduation of 3 or 4 years, In ECA assessment they want to see words like Postgraduate, Post-Bachelor's, Graduate etc or just simple two degrees of four years.

then here :

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/criteria-comprehensive-ranking-system/grid.html

My interpretation : They want you to have one three year diploma/degree and one certificate, pretty good right ?? see next :

My interpretation : let us read again
"at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer"

your two or more is only valid if it is done after completion of 3 year program.

secondary >> 3 year degree/diploma program>> any one/two/three year certificate/diploma/degree program

Now you are eligible for two or more.

but if you have any one/two year certificate/diploma/degree before that 3 year program, you are not eligible for two or more.

something similar found on reddit

My ECA Assessments are

I have a 3 diploma year diploma from state technical board (india)
which is equivalent to : Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)
and bachelor degree with lateral entry to second year
which is equivalent to : Bachelor's degree (four years)
Final will be something like this:
CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY : Bachelor's degree (four years)

or diploma (two years) and Bachelor's degree (four years)

so by all logic, i don't think I am eligible for for two or more because its like

10 year study or 10th >>> Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years) >>> Bachelor's degree (four years)
or can break it as
10 year study or 10th >>> Secondary school diploma >>> diploma (two years) >>> Bachelor's degree (four years)

here my diploma (two years) comes before 3 year program, so it is not valid for two or more.

secondary >> 3 year degree/diploma program>> any one/two/three year certificate/diploma/degree program
but if get any other Postgraduate/Post-Bachelor's one/two/three year certificate/diploma/degree or Masters, I would be eligible for two or more points.
for me, it will be like
10 year study or 10th >>> Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years) >>> Bachelor's degree (four years) >>> Post graduate diploma/certificate(1/2year ) Or Masters (2 years)

I have seen a few similar cases on this forum with same question and same study as mine, I took this little imitative to clear some air, but not claiming to be 100% right, may be I am totally wrong. please share your input and knowledge on this matter.
Did u got final answer on this. We’re u eligible for two or more degrees or not?

HI Guys,

My friend has B.SC in Nursing & M.SC in Nursing. After WES She got the following Canadian equivalency.
1. for B.SC - Bachelors Degree ( Four years)
2. M.Sc - Master's Degree
Overall WES report says MAster's degree!

So while creating profile what shall she select, two or more degrees or Masters Degree?

Your help is appreciated

selecting Master's degree will give 7 points more. As you have been evaluated for Master's by WES..choose it.
