Hi ,

i have been working in Canada for the past one year in an IT firm. My designation currently is Senior Software Engineer, The platform that i have been working on is Data Warehousing . Could someone confirm which NOC code i should be applying under ?

My offer letter and the reference letter would say Software Engineer which falls under the code 2173 . But ideally anything related to data warehousing comes under 2172.

Please clarify

Regards,
Savio

my job duties are more towards the data warehousing and business intelligence side. but the letter from my organisation would state that i am a software engineer . would that conflict the duties that i perform ?

well... you don't say what kind of work permit you have... if you have an LMO-approved work permit to work as a software engineer for that company, then you are not authorized to work in a different position.

If you are on an open work permit, it is a smaller issue. Your job duties (not job title) will be evaluated against the NOC you identify. If they correspon - great. If they don't, then your application might be refused.

When I got my work permit it mentioned that I belongs to "computer Programmer or Interactive media developer"

but I still work in Database as a ETL developer & coding (C#,VB) and with different roles and responsibilities .

So based on this I applied CEC with NOC 2174 Skill A. Still I'm waiting for the reply from CIC though.
