Hello all,
I am filling my citizenship application and I have a que on which dates to use to answer Q13.

I lived in USA on student visa from Aug-2012 to April-2019 (Month I landed in US is Aug-2012)but my original visa stamp only listed the validity years between June-2012-June-2017. For 2018 and 2019, I have enrolled back in college and maintained my student status (I-20) and finally left the country in April 2019.

So, my que is - Should I put the dates as June-2012-June-2017 ( as mentioned in the Visa stamp) or should I mention them as Aug-2012-April-2019(Year&month I entered and left the country)

Thank You All in Advance.

The visa on your passport is only for travel, once you start your school and maintain your F1 in the US , you continue to be on the same visa unless you upgrade to a different visa say H1B / B1/B2 /H4. As long you had a valid I-20 from your new school and legally maintained F1 status, you will be on student visa status with the USCIS irrespective of your stamp date on Passport . The stamp on the passport is only required since you belong from a country which doesnot have a waiver free travel with USA.

Your F1 student visa period is from Aug-2012- April-2019 period.
