I received my PR on may 2019 which has an expiry date of July 2024. I took my PR and left Canada for personal reasons. It seems like I wont be able to come to Canada before 2022, meaning I will only have 2 years left on my PR card. Is it possible for me to to stay 2 years in Canada from 2020 tot 2024, renew my PR and apply for citizenship in 2025 when I will meet my 1095 days physical presence requirement. In other words, will it matter that my 1095 days will fall within both my old PR card and new PR card validity dates? Or does the 1095 days have to be within the 5 year period written on the PR card?
My understanding by the statement 'must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the 5 years immediately before you apply' says its not an issue. But I just wanted to double check.
Any help is highly appreciated.
