Before moving to Canada, I did nails(manicurist) as a side job from 2015. Because it was just a twice a week thing I did not include this on my initial study permit application, but I do have my booth rental contract on hand. About two months before the move I finally got my business license, because I didn’t need one if I was renting a booth in a licensed salon. I was paid cash directly from clients so there was no need for a pay stub from the salon owner.

Recently I noticed that manicurist are now accepted in as a Teer 3 work code and was wondering what would I need in order to use this as work experience? If I put more than 3 years (which covers my experience) my score is 524, with 1 year my score is 513.

I did start to use a booking site in 2018 that captures some of my work and hours but not all of it. I also do have photos of my work from Instagram and Facebook that can show dates as proof.

Just looking for any insight on this matter please and thanks .

You would need to show some sort of evidence that proves how many hours you worked and also your earnings. Did you pay taxes on these earnings? Can you show this as evidence? Did you make regular deposits into a bank account? Can you show your bank account transaction history as evidence?

The photos on insta and FB aren't of any help.

Thanks for your response to my question.

In the country where I’m from we are not required to file taxes on anything under $100,000. As a manicurist, a business license wasn’t required unless opening up your own salon. Cash is the normal method of payment and unfortunately, because I did this for 14-20hrs a week, I used this money to pay bills instead of depositing.

I just found out there is a way for me to intergrate the appointments for the two booking sites I used. If I print the report with with my hours and earnings would this suffice?
