Will Canada recognize a civil union done in another country so I can include my girlfriend on the PR application when I apply.
Current situation: US does not allow same sex marriage for immigration rights. My partner lives in Ecuador where they allow same sex civil unions. If we have a civil union done, would I be able to claim her as a spouse on my PR application so we can both move to Canada at the same time?
