I got a Civil Union with my conjugal partner last year In Cyprus, my question is do I need to get the certificate notarized before we apply?. I live in Ontario. I know this document is not recognized in Ontario but I want to prove that our relationship is a genuine .What is your advice?

Where is your partner from? Have they applied for a TRV? Have you lived together for a year? Canada's immigration defines conjugal relationship as having an immigration barrier that prevents you from living together or getting married.

Thanks for the reply. My partner is from Lebanon. He did not apply for TRV. We knew each other for more than 2 years. We have been married with Civil Union for a year and 2 months. Still we are preparing for the sponsorship application. 1) Do I have to notarize the Civil union certificate?
2) Can he apply for a visit visa to come and visit me before the application?
3) In visit visa application, can we mention that he will visit his partner?
4) How much percentage he can get the visa?
Thank you for your help
