Guys
Good news seems to be on the way but needs clarification,

Have just read Canadavisa new article on the proposed changes and would like to understand one point ;
Change proposed: repeal the minimum 183 physical presence in 4 out of 6 years
That means what ?
Means if I get my PR and passed four years in/out Canada, I would be eligible for citizenship?
One month a year for four years inside Canada might be enough ?

Another porposed change is to make it 3 out 5 years instead of 4 out of 6
Your advice guys !

Right now you need to physically live in Canada for 4 out of 6 years to qualify for citizenship. If the new rule passes, you will need to physically live in Canada for 3 years out of 5 to qualify for citizenship.

No - of course living one month a year for four years in Canada isn't enough to qualify for citizenship. This won't work under the current rules or under the new rules. You need to PHYSICALLY live in Canada for several years to qualify for citizenship (again both under the old current rules and new proposed rules).

Canada doesn't give citizenship away to people who can't be bothered to live in Canada - sorry to disappoint you. In fact, if you only spend one month a year in Canada, then not only will you not qualify for citizenship - but you'll also lose your PR status.

Definitely and this is ny plan howeever the statement is weird
Repeal the provision of 183 days physical presence in 4/6 years !

Not strange at all if you're familiar with the current citizenship rules. The 183 day a year requirement is an additional requirement to the 4/6 year rule. In other words you need to meet the 183 day rule as well as the 4 out of 6 year rule. If you want to discuss this topic further then I would suggest you move over into the citizenship section of the forum.
