Does anyone who have their Oath taking date ready had an invitation from CIC CALGARY on CITIZENSHIP TO PASSPORT PILOT PROJECT?

Where requirements for the passport are more simplified but you can only apply via MAIL.
I received the invitation April 13,2023 and my oath date is on April 25

I can't find anything online yet.

Hello everyone!!! The Citizenship to Passport Pilot was very quick specially in my case, I am temporarily in Ontario that's why i applied for it.

You have to reply to the exact email invitation that you will be participating. Because it says in the email that you have to reply to them within 30days.

It was very easy I just filled the passport application form (attached to the invitation email) with 2 passport photos and I sent it to Calgary (just follow their instructions).

I had my Oath May 10th, signed the documents and email it to them. Once they receive your passport application (they received mine May 11th and sent the document the night of may 10) and the documents that you signed after your oath, that is the day1 of the 20 business days of processing your passport.

I just received my passport today May 31! Technically they processed it in 14 business days not including the holiday and including the mailing time.

In some way the in-person might be quicker but it saves you time to go to Service Canada just mail it and receive it in 2-4weeks.

Interesting.

Did you also have to pay for the passport?

I'm assuming the guarantor and references bit remains unchanged for this? The same hard copy passport application that everybody uses?

For the email invite they will attach the new application form which is shorter and different from the regular one. Heading says "ADULT PASSPORT APPLICATION FOR THE CITIZENSHIP TO PASSPORT PILOT PROJECT"

Also for this one you only need 2 REFERENCES, since you just finished your citizenship so I guess they don't need a guarantor anymore.

Thank you, that's helpful! Did you have an option to scan and send in your form and picture...or hard copy only? If this pilot is for Calgary only, I hope it's expanded to include Toronto!
