Hello everyone,
I just started the process of gathering docs to apply for my citizenship :) I am very excited yet nervous and would appreciate your advice! My first question is regarding names.
I HAVE MANY names and in my PR card my third name only shows as an "E" (not enough space)
I see the very first question is 3.A says
name"exactly" as it is shown on my immigration document" so I guess that means I have to keep ignoring one of my names , even though I go by that one precisely and don't use the first two?
3.B says "Request for a different name to appear on certificate (subject to approval)

Could I request my third name to appear then?

It does not show on my PR for lack of space but it does on any other original document (Birth certificate , name at birth etc)
I just want your opinion in case that wont be a problem, because if it is I will just forget about it and live my life with endless names.

Appreciate your comments!

E.

I had the same problem and I put down my name as it appears in my passport. So far they haven't complained about my name, so it should be fine.

In Application form, full first name and last name should be written regardless of what is on PR Card.

CIC knows that because of limited space, name is not printed completely on PR Card.

However it matches with your passport and other documents so there is no issue.

thanks

You have or put exactly the name as it appears on your landing papers and on the letters from the government. You can check your immigration case online to reconfirm. But I am pretty sure that the name you have on PR card and your medical insurance card (OHIP in Ontario) is your official name in Canada (i.e. In all the electronic system).

I have the same issue. My landing paper and PR card show the name missing letters. I asked CIC about that some time ago, and they said on my records on their system my name is complete. So write your name complete as it was when you applied for immigration, regardless of how it appears on the PR card. I did the same when I applied for citizenship.

This is what I did as well. I have a truncated third name on my PR card and the landing papers, but the agent I met during my test/interview had no problems with my whole name being on my application.

This question belongs to citizenship application. Names must match the system. In my case my middle name is completely missing in my canadian papers. I've got my package returned when I used my full name.
