Hey
I will appreciate your response. I apply for citizenship on July12,2011 and Got my acknowledgement letter on September 11, 2011. I checked my status in E-CAS online application status. It says that they "received application". Does it mean that they did not start the processing? I need my citizenship urgently. I am leaving Canada as I got a job offer from USA. My employer hired me for 6 month H1B Visa as he think that I will get my citizenship in next 6 months and I do not need H1B visa. Is there any way to speed up the process? What is the status of my application?
What is the usual timeline to get citizenship from Montreal?

Thanks.

it takes on average 14months from when they receive your request to when you have citizenship.

There is no way to speed up the process.

Thanks for your reply. Did you mean that "It takes on average 14months from when they receive I received my acknowledgement letter of application to when I have citizenship" in Montreal. If you mean that, then I suppose to get it by November, 2012?

well maybe yes, maybe no.. as what memoi told you, it takes an average of 14 months. However, there were still instances that it takes longer or shorter than 14 months. Depending on how "fast" they process your papers. Since there had been more immigrants that kept coming in our country, its no wonder if it will take quite sometimes before they finished it. But still, it would be better if you'll do a follow up report.

My time line:

Applied : Feb 2010
AOR & Discover Canada Book : July 2010
Test Date : March 19th 2011
Invitation Letter for Oath : March 24th 2011
Oath & Citizenship Day : April 2011

I know people who got their oath invitation letters in four days after sitting for their written test and others i know who got it after two months and worst cases six to eight months!

If you were not asked to fill up the RQ, then just sit and relax....
