Hello,
I have been looking through some timelines online as to what to expect from application submission to citizenship oath processing time. The CIC website currently says 21 months and I have read many timelines that show that the time varies by which office the application is processed at, missing information, incorrect residency calculation, etc.
I am wondering if the difficulty of verifying information in your application is what causes the most delays. For instance, my fiance was born in South Africa and moved to Canada at age 2 (with non-Canadian parents). She received her permanent residency 2 years after that (age 4). She left the country once for a nominal amount of time (2 months) when she was 8. She hasn't left the country since (and never got a PR card). She has spent 90%+ of her life in Canada, gone through the education system, a history of paying taxes, etc. Her Canada residency calculation is well over the threshold of 1095 (6000+). All documentation is accurate and submitted (proof of landing papers, identification, etc.). I'm curious if with such a straight-forward case, the process might run faster. Does anybody have any timelines that they could share with qualifications well exceeding the minimal requirements?
I'll be sure to share our experiences on the forum when everything is finished. So far, application sent Oct 1, 2012, no confirmation letter received.
Thanks!
