Citizenship test results - Glen Erin Drive, Mississauga - April 2012

It is really unfortunate, and falls into the pattern at Miss office of sending RQ a few months after the test. I wonder why they have to wait for so long to send the RQ.

I have one quick questions, if anyone can help. On the RQ it asks if I declared Canada as my place of residence on the Tax Returns I filed in last four years. I did not file any tax returns myself, my husband files taxes every year based on his salary and claims my exemetion. Should I state as such on the RQ or should I now file Nil returns and wait for notices of assessment from CRA and then attach them with RQ before sending the RQ back.

Congratulations KBP!!! I am so happy for you. :)

Your timeline shows that we have the same date of acknowledgement of receipt of application but you were scheduled earlier for the test. If you don't mind me asking, was yours an individual application or for your entire family?

Mine was a family application. The thing is, after they started processing, they required additional identification for my daughter that would match her complete name that we requested to reflect in the Citizenship Certificate. Her other IDs are showing her middle name abbreviated. We submitted the additional requirement on the 1st week of February.

Below is my timeline:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on June 6, 2011.
We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on June 6, 2011.
We started processing your application on January 25, 2012.
We sent you a notice on April 13, 2012 to appear and write the citizenship test on May 1, 2012 at 8:00 AM.

Yay! :) I finally got my Oath Ceremony date! I procrastinated my citizenship application for over a year and these past few months of waiting have really made me regret that.

I took the test at the Glen Erin office on April 26th and the citizenship ceremony will be held on August 14th at 9:00 AM.

I would also like to report that we took our test on April 24th at the Glen Erin location, and have received notice to appear for the oath on August 8th at 9 am.

April batch who didn't get notice of oath yet, check your ECAS now!

Praise God! My ECAS got updated today. It says:

We sent you a notice on July 30, 2012 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on August 14, 2012 at 9:00 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

I wrote my test on May 1st. Maybe your ECAS also got updated today. :)
