Hi Guys,

I will submitting my application for citizenship next month, however, I would like to start studying from now therefore i have a few questions:

1. How should I study for it?
2. Are there cheat sheets that summarize the the Discover Canada book?
3. What do you think of citizenship test prep courses? any well known institutes or associations in Toronto that offer great citizenship test prep courses?
4. Can the people who have already taken the test tell us how different the questions will be from the mock exams online?

I'm currently reading, learning, and testing out of www.citizenshipcounts.ca .... what do you guys think of that resource?

I also have a feeling that the exam has a different format of questions than the practice ones online. I remember someone saying something about true/false questions on the real exam? can someone confirm?

Can any test taker give us an insight into how difficult the questions were? question format? level of detailed study required to answer the questions?

Thanks everyone.

Hi,

If you are applying next month than there is no need to start studying for a test now. You should apply and wait till you receive invitation to write the test. For your test prep read the discover canada book and you will be good. As for practicing for questions and test these sites are good.

Hi Crazylove,

Thank you so much for your insight and links to resources.

I understand that I have to wait until I get invited to the test, but I thought I would start reading now as there are many details that I have to keep in mind. This is why I was asking what level of detail should I be learning at to be able to pass the exam.

I noticed v-soul questions are more tricky and difficult. I don't think the test has the questions with this level of detail and difficulty. But if somebody has time it is worthy to practice it as well.

Absolutely true!! Exactly why we need a few people who can share their experience to let us know what the questions are going to be like and the level of detail required while studying to be able to answer the questions on the real exam

The exam is confidential. We cannot say much.

I highly recommend you read the Discover Canada book at least 5 times, and then work to answer all the questions. Then do the richmond library and toronto library practice questions. Go back and revise and re-study the sections/questions you got wrong. Start studying now or at least read the book now so you can understand the level of content . Download the book onto your phone so you can read it when you are bored on the bus, etc.
