People who did the test on May 28 got the oath letter recently
For July 15 , did you have RQ before or after the test?
There was any concern during the interview ?
I suggest to cic on Monday to update you with the status of your application , the default answer is
You have to wait 6 months after the test if you pass it for the next step , usually at cic office
Will tell you 1-3 months for the oath

Hi,

I wrote the test on 2nd June 2014, in Kitchener, and am still waiting for the oath invitation letter. No RQs or any concerns during the interview. However, they did say that it will take 2 and a half months for the oath ceremony. Next ceremonies are on 15th and 17 July so I am getting concerned about my case. Hoping for the best, though. Thanks.

I had no other option since i was out of the town when i received the letter.
I called CIC and they told me i have to contact kitchener office directly via mail or fax and tell them the reason of why I cannot come for test. CIC told me if they accept your reason they will reschedule it for you. They gave me the fax number and I fax the letter . And call back few days later and CIC told me wait for your second test letter.

did they said 2.5 months or 1-3 months ? because usually before the test start officer will tell the attendance general information about the test and the oath as well and they will say to expect the oath in 1-3 months later at the interview the officer confirm that and said it will take 1-3 months for the oath letter

Since my husband who is a Canadian citizen couldn't find a job in canada we left canada and live overseas . I applied for citizenship one year before i left canada. So i explain to them that i accompany a Canadian citizen. And since my pr card was expired i asked them to give my next test date few months later so i could apply for travel document. I did not give them any proof. It was just an one page letter . And since my pr card expired and it takes few months to renew it i stay in canada to get my passport .

Yes. He mentioned that the oath ceremony for this group will be after 2 and a half months.

I understand that since September 2013, they have changed the procedure to speed up the process. Now if you miss the test date for the first time, you have to write to CIC within 60 days, with an acceptable reason, and request them a retest date. If CIC accepts your reason for nor attending, they give you the new date usually after 60 days (from the original test date). If you don't inform them within 60 days, I guess they will return your file and the fees, so you need to apply again.

if you call CIC, the agent will be able to look at your file and tell you if your file has been approved and if its just a matter of scheduling you for the oath. I wrote the test on 28 May at Kitchener and have been called for Oath on July 16.

Hi Iris66,

Here is my timeline:

Sent the application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on 10th July 2013
CIC received the application on July 15, 2013.
Received the letter acknowledging receipt of application(s), and the study book in September 2013
CIC started processing the application on September 27, 2013.
CIC sent a notice on February 24, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on March 10, 2014. I didn't get that notice by mail on time (we were out of town and my landlord messed up the mail) and so I missed the test. Immediately wrote to local CIC office and gave them the reason for not attending.
CIC again sent a notice on May 12, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on June 2, 2014 which we did
CIC sent the notice on July 3, 2014 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on July 22, 2014

Hope this helps.
