Can you believe my friend in Calgary wrote her citizenship Test today 8th of january 2013 and get her Citizenship Certificate in the AFTERNOON SAME DAY !!!!!

Why is it that in WINNIPEG YOU HAVE TO WAIT 2 TO 4 MONTHS TO GET THE RESULT OF 20 MULTIPLE CHOICE??? WINNIPEG IS A SMALLER PROVINCE TOO.Is that fair. WE all pay the same money and follow the same process?? Come on

Pre-Assessed..
You need to know your friend's total processing time....recent trend for Montreal and Calgary is that same day test and oath are usually for those with applications that have been in process for almost the quoted 21 months timeline.

People from calgary and montreal reported having both the test and ceremony at the same day. I'm not sure if this will be the trend there yet. Still waiting for more people to share their info.

Montreal used to have both events at the same day many years ago. Then they switched to have the ceremony 2 months after the test. Now, it seems that they are switching back.

Big advantage of having both events at the same day is that by the time the local office opens your file and schedule the test, your background check is almost expired. So, if they don't schedule the ceremony at the same day, they have to redo the background check again, and timeline skyrockets.

Winnipeg and maritime provinces report long waiting timeline. In winnipeg, they don't even have a judge for ceremonies. Whenever there is a ceremony, He/She comes from out of manitoba.
It seems that CIC (or the government) is not assigning enough budget to these provinces to hire employees to speed up abit.

When people in Ont were reporting an 16 months timeline, people in winnipeg were reporting 26 months. and we are talking no RQ.

Mimi74 from winnipeg is reporting 15 months after test with no ceremony. Other people also from winnipeg are reporting 25 months with no test and no RQ.

I guess the key word here is patience.

WonderfulRemark yes ,It is Manitoba instead of winnipeg.

My friend in Calgary here waiting time was just the same as me 21 months.

If the waiting time to take the oath in Winnipeg takes longer why are they fooling people by giving them wrong info...... this what they gave to me 2 months ago

"IF YOU PASS THIS TEST .YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL TO ATTEND A CITIZENSHIP CEREMONY. TIS MAY TAKE BETWEEN 2 TO 4 MONTHS"

Patience yes i understand but beside it is stressful. If people fail tell them right away and do not let them wake up everyday wondering if it is a FAIL or a PASS

Look like Citizenship Department need to recruit more Judges?
