Hi guys,

I've received an invitation for the test now, however, currently living outside Canada. Who knows can I pass the test in the international transit zone of Toronto airport? As I don't wanna put myself in a quarantine for 2 weeks if I pass through the border control. Thanks for your thoughts.

You can do quarantine for one or two nights..... not necessary to do 2 weeks.
yes, but then you pay min 2000 for hotel and other stuff, and i am not sure if that is for each family member or per family. while if you do the test in transit zone, then you just pay the tickets, no?

To be on the safe side, I would spend ONE night in the hotel.

Call the hotels, most of them were charging half of the 2000 (for one person) for the 3 days.

to be on safe side from what? are not you physically, technically, officially and logically in Canada, when you are in YYZ airport's transit zone?

imagine for family of fours? :) that's extra 4000 bucks, while you could have bought tickets only...

That is actually my intention to fly to Toronto for a few hours, sit and complete the test in the transit zone, then return back on the same day, as I have another restrictions related to COVID test validity in EU. Definitely, I'll pay for this flight.

To pay for a hotel is not an issue, the problem is 14 day quarantine, which seems non-avoidable, if you're crossing the border and entering in the city.

Here you go my friend:

Leaving Canada during your quarantine period
You may choose to leave Canada before the end of the 14-day quarantine period. However, you must:
  • continue to quarantine yourself until your departure date
  • wear a non-medical mask when you depart Canada
  • comply with all regulations for the country of destination
You must use a private vehicle to depart Canada. You will not be allowed to board a flight if you are currently under a quarantine order.
If you are in a federal designated quarantine facility, you must get authorization from a quarantine officer to leave.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm referring to. I'll need a private jet to leave Canada before 14 day term, otherwise, I won't be allowed to board on a regular airline. Thank you anyway!

With the negative on the covid test you have to take upon your arrival, which shoul be ready I think in those first 52 hours, you can board a regular airline back to Europe. No?

Not really. The negative test is a mandate to enter in EU, even for citizens, but you won't be allowed to board in Canada if you're still in a local quarantine.
