what questions are in the citizenship test and is it done by paper or computer.
Any reference website or mock tests please
I think the test questions are covered by confidentiality (you cannot reveal it to others).
That being said, just read the Discover Canada book. As mentioned in that book itself, the questions will come
only from the book. It could be phrased differently but if you understand the contents of the book, you are good.
This below would be my suggestion (
not applicable for everyone,
ymmv):
1. Order the physical book from the government website, its free (if you have yet to receive the test invite, it takes some time) or print it out. (Order multiple copies if you have multiple family members taking the test in your household).
2. Don't take any practice test before reading the book in its entirety.
3. Once you've covered the entire book and taken notes, go through those multiple times until you are comfortable.
4. In the meantime, download the audio versions (each section/entire book) and listen as many times as you'd like. It's only like 3 hours long and the main subject matter is only around 2 hours.
5. Then take the sample tests in the book itself and see if you can answer every one of them correctly.
6. Then - as someone here had suggested - you can try the ten practice tests in apnatoronto.com and if you consistently get 90+% in all of their practice tests, you will probably do well in the actual test. (Obviously the questions are not going to be the same but it just shows you have a good understanding.)
As I said earlier, this doesn't apply to everyone. Just to give an example, if someone doesn't already know the basic differences between a parliamentary democracy or a dictatorship or the basic voting procedures, or a just the basics of how a UK-based parliamentray system functions etc then the above might not apply to them, they will need to approach it differently or practice more intensly.
On the other hand, if you're a person who's generally done well with multiple choice tests throughout your life
and have always had a pretty good understanding of politics, North American history, high-level geogrpahy etc it should be a breeze. Obviously everyone needs to read the Discover Canada book thoroughly (since failing the test will probably set you back by several months) but in general they're not trying to nitpick or trick you.
Of course, most people here have only a single experience of taking the test so take everything with a grain of salt and do what works for you.
