Citizenship taxes filled question

Hi Friends,

My question is about Q-12 which is about taxes filled

There are two columns
Required to file Taxes filled


I have filled my taxes for the last 5 years and I need to know about the first column Required to file,Do i need to select those check boxes also or leave it blank .

Can somebody please advice?

If you were required, because you were a "tax-resident", you need to tick the box. If you DID file, then you can safely assume that the box should be ticked anyway. Make sure you permit IRCC to contact CRA for your tax records. It will make your life easier.

I guess you have already answered my question but just to be on the safe side I am asking again

I have been earning minimum wages for the last few years and I have filled taxes for the Year 2013,2014,2015,2016 and 2017.

Since I was earning minimum wages so I got refund from the Govt for all the years in question and I did not have to pay anything to the govt as my income was very less

So please suggests now.


Shall I select all check boxes in required as well as taxes filled column or leave required taxes blank and select checkboxes for taxes filled .column.

If you filed for all those years, what do yo have to worry about? They don't care how much tax you pay, or if you pay at all.

So in nutshell I should select Taxes Required as well as Taxes Filled check boxes on the citizenship application and move on
