Citizenship requirements increase?

I heard that the requirements will change (Google search for Canada citizenship change ) Replace *** with "thestar" , no quotes. Is this true? Is it applicable to current PR's or future ones?

This could be problematic for me. I want to feel "safe" and have citizenship. I don't plan on leaving Canada but you never know. Scientific research careers (which I want) often send you away to places you don't expect for long periods.

Yes, what you heard is true. If the new law becomes law, which is only a question of when and not if, you will need to be here for 4 years instead of 6 before submitting your application...plus other ingredients and side dishes.
