Hi,everyone, I understand tht one has to live atleast 1095 days in the period of 4 yrs b4 applying for citizenship. But I have come to know tht the processing for Citizenship case may take 12-15 months.I want to know can one leave Canada after fulfilling the requirement of 1095 days n filing his application for citizenship for some months or so n can come back when the case s is at its final stage or so.Also will his absence during this period could ve any negative effect on his citizenship application
Also what about the kids under 18 yrs of age ,I know tht they dnt need the residency requirement to be fulfilled by them as long as they r fulfilled by their parents,n they dnt need to attend the Citizenship ceremony as well if they r under 18 yrs of age.I want to know tht their age will b calculated at which point of time ,at the time of filing for application or at the time of granting citizenship.Suppose a child is 16 yrs plus at the time of filing for citizenship but he turns above 18 yrs ,by the time ,his case s processed for citizenship, will the conditions of kids under 18 yrs will b applied to him or not?

You can leave after you apply for citizenship but you have to be ready to go back with less than 2 weeks notice so you need to have an address for your mail and somebody checking it so when they notify you to appear for test and later to appear for oath, you can go right away. There is no way of knowing when exactly they will contact you. They could call you for test after 2 months or after 2 years. After the test, you will again get a letter to appear for oath, could be 6 weeks later, could be 6 months later.

Kids do not need to fill residency requirements for citizenship as long as the parents do but the kids do need to have their PR and need to have kept the residency requirements for their PR. Kids don't have to take the test if they are under 18 but they do have to appear and take the oath if they are 14 or older. I don't know if they take their age at the time of application or their age at the time of the test/oath.

Actually Its 1095 in 5 years and You may leave Canada after fulfilling this requirement to apply as long as you maintain your PR status.

For PR you can be outside Canada maximum 1095 days in any 5 year period. To apply for citizenship you need to have lived in Canada for 1095 days in the previous 4 years before you apply.
