Hello Everyone,
I did a Soft Landing for my PR on Aug 30, 2016. I received my COPR and PR Card with this Aug 30, 2016 Date on it. Then I left Canada within 5v days time on Sep 04, 2016 to my home country. Then the next year I got Job offer and came back to Canada i.e. on July 23, 2017 and I am living continuously since then. I have now reached the Physical presence requirement

Now for the Citizenship application which date should I mention for the Question ( What date did you became a Permanent Resident of Canada?). Please clarify this query.

You need to specify the day when you did the soft landing which is Aug 30 2016 and you can get this date from your COPR which was signed by an Immigration officer.

Hello,
In the citizenship application form we have to provide all countries that we have resided in the past 4 years and provide PCC for countries stayed for more than 183 days.

however there is a note that if you have stayed in your country of origin other than Canada in the past 4 years then you don’t need to provide PCC from country of origin.

i am an Indian citizen who spent a year in india before becoming PR and moving to Canada. So India is my country of origin and hence i would not Need to provide Indian PCC in my application form.

can someone please confirm my understanding

thanks

It is evident from the note that if you lived in your home prior to becoming PR in the last 4 years then you dont need to provide PCC.

However, You must mention that in the explanation box in order to satisfy caseworker otherwise they may return it as an incomplete application.
