Hi. I think you'd have no problem whatsoever renewing your PR card; just have copies of work permits & tax notices. If you do apply for citizenship in Fall 2017, then any time spent in Canada before Fall 2012 wouldn't be countable (i.e., at the half-day rate for pre-PR); but with your 840 full days post-PR, I calculate that you'd need a cumulative 510 days of pre-PR presence in order to be able to apply in Fall 2017.

Q1) Based on your calculation would I get 1 year credit pre pr ?
Q2) Based on my situation when will I be eligible to apply since i will return back to Canada on the 28th of September 2017 ?

Given the uncertainty of the exact implementation date for the 3/5 rule, you ought to assume the most conservative stance at this stage, as I've done, and just stay focussed on getting up to the full 3yrs of physical presence as a PR. I reach my full 3yrs on Friday this week, and it's a nice feeling. I think that claiming any pre-PR days at all as credit may actually lengthen the processing time, and that it's better to stay in the "straight shot" stream/queue, where there are less chances of bureaucratic snafus & misinterpretations & undue scrutinies. Good luck.

Based on your advice

92 days ( Oct + Nov+ Dec 2012)

365 days ( Jan to Dec 2013)

47 days ( before receiving PR 2014 )

Total 504 day which means credit of 504/2= 252 days

So I get 252 day pre PR +840 days post PR=1092

So I require 1095-1092= 3 days and then I can apply

Yup. Provided that the 3/5 rule is actually up-&-running when you get back.

Pre PR day question

92 days (Oct + Nov+ Dec 2012)

365 days (Jan to Dec 2013)

47 days (before receiving PR 2014)

Total 504 day, which means credit of 504/2= 252 days

Q1) Pre PR days From 1st October 2012 to 16th Feb 2014 I may have travelled some holidays do they need to subtracted as I did not keep travel tracks that time frame?

Ya. All absences from Canada will count against your total days spent within the borders of Canada. So one has to have all international travel records, such as passport stamps, boarding-passes, etc. If you're like me and never throw such things away, then you'll have everything that you'll need proof-wise in a box somewhere.

SENIORS HELP PLZ

Hoping the Bill C6 Implementation is 1st of October 2017 so that max I can go back is 5 years when I apply for citizenship which will be 1st October 2012 for me .

Pre Pr day in Canada Counted

From Oct 1st to Dec31 2012 -------- 92 day after calculation 46 day

2013 Jan 1st to Dec 31 2013--------324 day after calculation 162 days

2014 Jan 1st to Feb 17 2013---------- 40 day after calculation 20 day

Pre Pr day Total

46+162+20=228

Post Pr days

18/feb/2014 to 01/oct /2017)

840 physical day present in Canada

Total days Pre+Post PR

228+840= 1068 day

The Magic Number is 1095

I am short by 27 days.

17/04/2019 (PR card will expire)

Q1) once I have completed 27 days I will loose 15 days from oct 2012 because I will have to go back 5 years ?

Example on the 27th of Oct I will complete 1095 day and say I apply on November 1st then I will loses the entire October 2012 as the 5 years starts from Nov 2017 thus I will be 15 days short and this will continue .

The easiest solution is just wait for another month to get the days you need. Besides, nobody knows when in fall it will start, could be September, could be November or even later
