Thanks OCTAVIEN for sharing your timeline. It should not take more than 19 months as mentioned on cic website ( atleast for regualr cases). And its been almost 19 months already for both of us. I have not been asked for RQ (residence questionnaire), how about you. Did you get any chance to speak with cic call center to inquire how long you would have to wait for oath ceremony.

I wonder if Montreal is taking longer now because they are being way more careful about making checks given the scandal a while back which was centered in the Montreal area with immigration consultants who faked documents for PRs based overseas to show as if they were living here while all along they were living overseas.

All this to say, that maybe now even good & clean applications - like all of yours here - are paying the price for what others did earlier. Also, in general, everybody seems to be going through more checks as well - receiving RQs etc coupled with some staff cuts in Government while means fewer warm bodies and people to handle the same if not more workload.

I sincerely think all these factors have some role in the process. But, overall, I do think that if people have all the facts, paperwork and put in the required amount of time for PR/citizenship, the system will work in their favour. So, Good Luck to all of Us ! :)

Hi everyone,

I also got my oath ceremony scheduled for Aug 29, 2012. It took 6 months after the test to appear at the ceremony. I Wish all you Montrealers good luck :) .
