Hi guys, I have a question for those who got pr as refugee. My original docs were seized and I have never requested them because I did not need to. Now it’s time to apply for citizenship and I see that online application requires coloured pictures and originals.
can I still apply with copies, like my kids birth certificates and etc or I have to request my docs from IRCC?
Thank you

Where do you see that? Looking at the official document checklist at https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/cit0007.html the only documents that require originals for seem to be:

Original police certificates or clearances
How would one submit the original physical docs with an online app anyways? For a paper one I assume you can stick the original docs in the same envelope as the completed paper application form, but online?

I mean from the checklist it clearly says photcopies. So I'd say yes.

Colour photocopy of all pages in your passport(s) or travel document(s)...

Photocopy of two (2) personal identification documents.

Photocopy of legal Name Change documents.
In any case, if you're applying for something through IRCC, and the reason you don't have the originals is because IRCC has the originals.. presumably IRCC will be glad that they were saved the trouble of having to ask you to send originals over again?
