My daughter's citizenship application status has been update with an oath ceremony scheduled on 2-Dec-2021. However, no letter or email has been received yet. Can any one advise, if the oath will be online or through physical presence? The reason for asking this question is that she is currently outside Canada will have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival as she still has to receive second dose of Pfizer to be exempt from quarantine and there are exactly 14 days left in the Oath. Please advise.

I believe it's online. Your/her oath email should have instructions right?

to answer your question: The Oath is Online but have to be in Canada as she would need to cut her PR card infront of the judge. Doesn't matter if your daughter has to quarantine for 14days as she only needs a laptop/ computer with camera / webcam and a few documents ( should be in your letter , I am not sure of the checklist )

wanted to add more to this, if your daughter wants to travel back to where she was then she needs to wait for the citizenship certificate after oath , apply for passport & then get necessary visa for the country ( if applicable )

How many days it takes to receive the citizenship card which I believe would be through ordinary mail. Secondly, I can forward the citizenship card to my daughter and she can get her passport issued outside Canada at her current place of residence wherein she is going to stay for another 8 months? Any advise / comment on this.

it's not a card just a certificate , can take anywhere between 2days to 4 weeks. but once you get it submit an urgent request to get passport. I don't think so you can get your 1st passport done outside of canada. Not sure about this but I would advise to leave the country once you get passport done here as your daughter won't get either of visitor visa / PR / PRTD to travel back here. I wouldn't risk it if I were in this situation.
up to you.

Yes you can apply for your 1st passport outside of Canada. No matter if it's the first or second etc. You're canadian after the oath and receiving the citizenship certificate and entitled to apply passport like any other canadian. I will have my certificate mailed to me abroad and I will stop by at the embassy here. People like to scare about risks here but so far I have not experienced any or had any issues with either PR or citizenship process.
