Why worry about something that hasn't happened? The requirement is to file tax returns which you say you've done. You're free to be unemployed or self-employed as you see fit. Several applicants are spouses or stay at home parents who may not be employed full time.

April 2021 to March 2022 was my timeline. I posted on this thread in October to possibly proactively get the translations in case of an issue during background checks. Thankfully it was not needed.

Yeah I didn't do the translation and it was fine. Have a Canadian passport now.

FYI, I got my documents back. TBH, the BLS Ottawa staff are kind of a helpful bunch. They've been pretty reasonable in their interactions with me. It's delays on the HCI Ottawa side that they have no control over.

Did they said what the hold up is? You can try your luck walking in, afaict, it's allowed.

I submitted my originals last week in a walk-in application. They told me that I'll definitely get it back in 2-4 days. I haven't gotten it back yet. Maybe I'll start panicking soon as I need to travel this weekend.

Would you mind sharing how long it took for the visa to be processed? My visa application is pending for a month and I'm now worried that they've lost my Canadian passport. Also no one responds through any of their communication channels. Extremely frustrating.

@sangeo @neal27 any update on your timelines? I submitted mine on Apr 1 at BLS Ottawa and it's still processing at high commission.
