Hello everyone, I have my citizenship oath scheduled for November 22, 2023, and I already have a flight booked to India for January 18, 2023. I'm wondering if I have enough time to surrender my Indian passport, obtain my Canadian passport, and apply for an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card in time for my flight. Are there any alternative solutions to OCI, and has anyone here experienced a similar situation and can provide advice?

Its its not Ottawa, then you will get your surrender certificate within 2-3 weeks and now you can apply for entry visa at the same time which may come within 10 days.
OCI you can apply at the same time of entry visa or do it after you are back.
Ottawa is 6-7 weeks of SC and 9-10 weeks for OCI and no clarity about entry visa processing. So tough if you from there.
Sorry I should have mentioned in my response earlier but yeah not from Ottawa. I am in Niagara region. Any timelines on Canadian passport? I will need that for re-entry in Canada.

Can I go to any other jurisdictions where the processing time is potentially faster?
Alternatively, what if I don't surrender my passport and take it along with me? Considering I will still be within the 3 months grace period when I land. I will surrender my passport in India instead. This way I don't have to worry about applying for Entry Visa.
