Hello everyone,

i was taking a look at a lot of timelines posted by people on this website when i take a look at my status its not very clear can someone please explain it to me, please find the description below:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on March 21, 2014.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on March 21, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

[size=10pt]We started processing your application on April 30, 2014.[/size]

this is the portion i have a question about most of the timelines i have looked at "We started Processing your application", is at least a year after the receipt of application how can my processing start within a month of receipt?

I think this is a normal timeline. Nothing expedited or anything. They received my application on Feb 28 and started processing it April 8. So about the same amount of time as you

It could be super fast if you're applying from western Canada, though if you're from Ontario it's just the norm.

I was told by another member that western Canada (Vancouver specifically) is the longest of them all.. I'm in the Vancouver area, but I'm not sure where my file will be transfered.

That's not true. Now the norm is 45 days to 2 months after sending your application. maybe you were looking at some application from 2011 and 2012. Check the thread about 2014 applications.
