Hi, guys

Next month I am going to apply for citizenship.

I have question , can I submit my transcript of B.E. ( Civil ) -( 4 years after 12th Std. )done from India as a language requirement????

Or I have to give the language test???

Please guide me.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. But for PNP I did not give IELTS exam. They did not asked about that.

So my engineering transcript is good for language requirement.

On website
You can send us one of a number of different documents to show that you meet the language requirement. For example:

the results of a CIC-approved third-party test, or

evidence of completion of secondary or post-secondary education in English or French, in Canada or abroad, or

evidence from certain government-funded language training programs.

Please guide me.

hi dipashah,

I passed my College/University TOR from my home country.....Mine was in english. They've accepted it as my language proof,it was never questioned on my test date and interview......I am almost done with my CIC journey,my oath ceremony is scheduled for March 23 :D :D

guys If somone apply a copy of the IELTS result he applied with his FSW would it be accepted if its 5 years old in addition to being a copy ?

somtimes people say its ok other times i read its not ?

does sombody have a personal experience with that

thanks

I understand that PRs are not required to write language test again, since they have already fulfilled the language requirements during their PR application.

Canadian Permanent Residency and Citizenship are two entirely different processes.

Every Citizenship Applicant has to submit either a copy English language Proficiency certificate (As CIC's specified standard) or copy of educational certificate of their secondary or higher education in English medium.

If you have Bachelor's degree (Specified on your degree certificate "English Medium), its sufficient. Unless you had your education in Non-English Medium. However, I believer most of the professional degrees in India are offered in English Medium, I believe your are OK.

However, remember to attached copy of your degree, high light "English Medium" as a proof of your English Language proficiency.

One more word of caution, its better to wait have some extra days or may be a month or so over the minimum required days before applying for Citizenship. Irrespective of reasons, any miscalculation of physical days presence in Canada results in longer processing time.

Yes, you can send IELTS results even if your cert is expired. I did it in my citizenship application without any problems.

See the Instruction Guide, section on language requirements, on the CIC web site:

"...Results of an accepted third-party test at the equivalent of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB/NCLC) / Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiensFootnote 1 level 4 or higher in speaking and listening either done previously for immigration purposes (acceptable even if expired) or done specifically for citizenship purposes. Test results from the following list are acceptable:...."

Thanks my friend but it's a copy of ielts and not origional , would that still be ok .

I strongly advise you read the Instruction Guide I mentioned before as many of your questions might be answered there and help you avoid your application being returned.

"Here are some reminders to avoid your application being returned to you:
...
  • You have included photocopies of additional documents (if applicable) such as: Language proof ; biographical and renewal pages of passports and/or travel documents; court documents.
  • ..."

As clearly stated, it's actually a copy of your IELTS, not the original, that you're required to submit along with your application. Please be aware that you are still expected to have the original documents in your possession in case you are asked to present them later in the citizenship application process!

But it is not possible to have the original IELTS document in possession in the case where the citizenship applicant previously submitted the original one to CIC (now IRCC) as language proof for his/her PR application. He/she therefore now has only a scanned copy or photocopy.

TOTALLY AGREE BRO , SO IT JUST MEANS THAT YOU SHOULD TAKE ANOTHER FRESH LANGUAGE TEST AND APPLY

BECAUSE IF WE DEPEND ON OUR OLD COPY , CIC MAY REFUSE IT AND THIS WILL DELAY THE PROCESS

THIS IS SOOO STUPID , WHY DOSENT CIC EXEMPT THOSE WHO APPLIED VIA FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER FROM THE TEST AND DEPEND ON THE IELTS COPY THEY RECEIVED WITH OUR INITIAL APPLICATION. WOULDN'T THIS MAKE THINGS EASIER AND FASTER !????

:D There is a way easier than having to take another, fresh IELTS exam! That is by acing the citizenship exam itself, scoring 19/20, 18/20, etc. So far, all the posters who wrote about their success stories of using photocopies of IELTS without any problems DID manage to get good scores on their citizenship exams. That is one way of avoiding the interview, theoretically, because if the scores are high chances are that candidates won't be asked for interviews. If one is unfortunate to encounter an interview, then originals are needed.
