The interview, which lasted barely ten to fifteen minutes, went quite well. She told me that the only reason I was being interviewed was because I took my knowledge test outside of Canada and they needed to know if I was back. She verified this by looking through my passport and ID.
My LPP was finalllllyy completed yesterday, and I'm currently awaiting the oath.
Could you please tell me how did they know you had your test outside Canada?

Hi All, we were not asked for interview but once LPP was completed one week after, we received out invitation for oath taking. Notice they normally change update on a Wed/Thru. Hope this helps. Good luck all!!

I did (in Alberta).

Lady was really nice. Just had a normal chat, answered couple of formal questions, verified my identity and it was over in 4 mins.

Yesterday, I got reply on the email to take the test outside of Canada, still one question. Does this email means they will slowly process my application? Do I need to be in Canada as soon as possible or can wait till they ask for interview or oath invitation? My test office is Montreal. The email is as follows:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.

To proceed with the online test from your location outside Canada you can access the link, found in the test invitation that was previously emailed to you, within the specified time period.

When you come back in Canada, please provide us with your proof of entry in Canada such as a copy of your plane ticket, boarding pass or passport stamp.

Thank you,

Depending on how you do on the test and pass, they will continue processing your application as normal since they still would have to do their background checks etc so it will take time. Once you are back, just send them what they want re the flight information and that is it. My partner did the test on second attempt and passed and took exactly 30 days and got an email for e-certificate download today. So, the oath date is coming up soon I believe. Your processing delay will depend on when you come back to canada and send in their requested information.

Hi Everyone,

I got an email for Citizenship Interview today. My test is done and BG check shows complete. Everything else under process.

The subject says 'Interview and verification of Id Documents'

My question is what all documents did you guys take for the interview?

I have the basics:
- Passport
- PR
- Driver's License

Did you guys also take your language proof like university degree, transcripts, plane tickets for travel verification, job letter, pay slips etc?

Any other document that I am missing?

Also, none of my friends who got citizenship recently gave the interview, is it supposed to be random or cause of concern?

Thank You

I had this interview. They just checked passports, Pr card, driving license and asked about employment. Thats it.
Thank you so much, did they go through stamp by stamp on your passport? I have a couple of US visits that were not stamped by US officials in the recent time, so just wondering even though I recorded all of that in my physical presence.

In theory, you're supposed to have all the required documents, that includes the language proof, but not the other stuff you listed, which you may have added as additional docs but was pretty much superfluous.
In practice, if you can speak english/french, they won't check the language proof, so they'll stick with the IDs.

Also, some officers will just have a few seconds look at your passport (happened to me), and others may go page by page, we can't really know how it will go in your case.
But don't worry about missing stamps, IRCC is well aware that customs don't always put one now. If you want, have your i94 ready in case your officer is very thorough with your passport.

Not an issue. They just want to verify that you have a livelihood in Canada.

Hi Forum,

Another question on the translation piece. I have a Mexican govt stamp on my passport from the time I visited Mexico. Does that need translation for the interview? The date is in English but there are some Spanish language too.

Any help would be appreciated.
