Hi,

Right after the completion of the citizenship application, how long does it take to receive a passport?
I was just wondering about the timeline from now on.
Is it in order of:

1) Citizenship grant (completion of citizenship application ?) : 12 months app.
2)Citizenship certificate : 5 months app.
3) With the certificate, you can apply for a passport? : 1 month app.

(assuming that covid situation doesn't impede the timeline)

1. You can apply within 24 hours of taking your citizenship oath.
2. Have no idea why you are saying 5 months for Citizenship Certificate, it is issued after you take oath.

OP thought that the application for a proof of citizenship is a step in the process.
Also, you can apply for a passport very soon after your naturalization. IRCC says 2 or 3 days after, but can be even shorter.

Generally speaking, you can apply for a passport as soon as your ECAS status is set to 'Complete'. IRCC generally asks you to wait 2 business days but the ECAS is (usually) set to complete before that (probably the very next day).
