Citizenship for a minor

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding Canadian citizenship for minors. If a child was born in another country, has been living in Canada for over 5 years, and is a permanent resident under 18 years old, can the child apply for citizenship? Both parents are also permanent residents, not citizens. Does anyone know how this works or what the requirements are?

The child can apply based on residency with no problems. Certain things like the citizenship test and language requirement are waived. Whether the child has to do the oath ceremony depends on age, I think (above 14 - yes).

For children applying whose parents are not yet citizens (and who are not applying to become citizens at the same time), it's section 5(1). (Section 5(2) is for children applying who have a Canadian parent - and note both of these are different than children who are born of a Canadian parent who receive citizenship at birth).
