I'm Canadian by descent, married to an immigrant, and our 2 yr old son was born outside Canada. (I was born outside Canada too but from a "born in Canada" mother). So my son had to go through the PR application and he got approved last week. ;D
I was curious to look into the citizenship application process and I noticed on the eligibility section ( http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-eligibility.asp ) that:
Time you have lived in Canada
You must have been physically present in Canada as a permanent resident for at least 1,460 days during the six years
immediately before the date of your application. You must also be physically present for at least 183 days during each
of four calendar years that are fully or partially within the six years immediately before the date of application.
These requirements do not apply to children under 18.
Does that mean that I can start the process for the baby citizenship right away after his PR?![Eek! ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Thanks for any knowledge shared
