Hi all!
I have a few questions related to the application for proof of citizenship certificate in Canada:
1) If the question does not relate to the applicant at all but there is a NO or YES check box, should the NO check box be ticked, or should it just be left blank?
2) The date the applicant first entered Canada. If this date is unknown to the applicant (he was born outside of Canada, in the US, and came to live in Canada when he was very young for a period of time), can this date be estimated? Or is there a definitive way of finding this date out? He would have entered around 1987 or so, before the Canada Border Security came into effect (in 2003) so I would assume there would be no passport record of this entry. What if this field is left blank?
3) For the 'other' parent (non-Canadian), should this information still be entered, or should it be omitted because this parent is not a Canadian citizen?
Thanks so much for any insight into this. Also, any other tidbits of information related to sending in a completed application (so that it's not sent back) would be highly appreciated.. thanks in advance!
