Congratulations, mine Oath was on 25th Jan. Hopefully I'll get it next week.

Update: my application finally got closed today. Not received certificate yet. But I reside in Northern Alberta and maybe why it hasn't arrived yet. Fingers crossed it may show up today.

My oath is on Feb 23rd (ottawa), so I didnt really do it yet to expect a certificate, but there will most definitely be a delay because of the Trucker's demonstration in Ottawa

IRCC office is located on Queen's street, they sent an email to some people awaiting certificate saying that they are closed indefinitely and that it was out of their hands.

Now, to me it does not make sense for us to wait until whatever is happening with the truckers' situation is resolved to even start hoping that certificates will be printed, no one knows how long they will stay in downtown, and it is only reasonable for IRCC to find alternate ways to print certificates.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to escalate this? They're like sorry we're closed, its out of our hands, providing no solution. It doesn't make sense because peoples' lives are on hold because of this.

They should prioritize the development of e-certificates, honestly https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...c-office-join-this-thread.744341/post-9929001

i agree, either this, or outsourcing to another office with priority, or sending this task to another gov department in ottawa that is not closed, or to get their asses to the office anyway cause they can easily go there, they just wait for the simplest excuse to stay at home, but anyway, it needs to be an immediate solution, there are people who have had their oath in October who didnt receive their certificates yet. it's ridiculous

Ottawa is already the slowest and least responsive office. Given the way certain politicians speak about the current events in Ottawa, I'm not surprised that they'd use this as an excuse to close the office.

My parting words to this forum: IRCC needs serious reform. They need 3rd party oversight. They need an ombudsman to take complaints and act on them. They need a "tiger team" cross-trained in every department that can move around to deal with overload. They need to move the entire system online. They need e-certificates.

I hope your application isn't delayed. Good luck!

I also completed my oath on Jan 24. File closed next day?
I think we can expect our certificates from today to the end of this week.
