One question： I have learned lots of trouble about certificate delivery delay or lost in the forum. Can we choose to Download the E- certificate after the oath ceremony ( even if haven’t been selected to get one)?

Nope. I tried that, does not work.

Finally - Envelop in mail box today.
IRCC Agent told us that Certificate has been mailed on 24th Nov but actual postal stamp date is 29th Nov 2022.
1 full calendar month to receive certificate.

I have a very strong feeling the whole Winnipeg office is not bad, just a few clerks there are absolutely pathetic, disorganized and grossly incompetent at dealing with certificates. My oath was October 17th, still no certificate.

It seems the Winnipeg office has mailed out certificates of citizenship for 16th November virtual oath ceremony last week.

Mine has been mailed out last Friday to Vancouver - as told by the agent on call.

My oath ceremony is scheduled for mid-Dec but I will be traveling abroad during holiday break. I bought my tickets which were too expensive and are non-refundable.

Is there a way to request them for urgent certificate and passport?

Chances are 50/50 given we are at the mercy of the agents. You can explain everything at the time of oath and plead to dispatch your certificate with tracking. Certificate can arrive i. 2 days and u can get ur passport in 1 day.

If the agent couldn’t careless and post regular mail u will then at the mercy of canada post as it’s also their peak season.

Either ways it’s for you to decide if u wanna take chances or want to reschedule. There’s no way around. IRCC has been extremely clumsy with their process. Good luck!

Good news people! I am with the Winnipeg office, live in vancouver and had a virtual oath (non urgent request) on November 21st. I just got my certificate in the Mail. 2 weeks and 1 day. woooohoo. keep an eye out on your mail. best of luck to everyone!

You can try to push your travel plan whatsoever, there’s always an exceptions! if anyway you can get refund or defer the ticket in future dates maybe?

You also have to consider we have approached holiday season which makes things even more difficult. IRCC doesn’t function well on regular days let alone on holidays lol. Part of it also depends on the freight so yeah. I wish everything goes smoothly for you whichever route you take!

My friend did the oath on 2/11 as well Niagra falls office and he is still waiting for the Certificate and his application is in progress.

We didn't receive it yet , when we called we were told it was printed on 18/11 which is 3+ weeks ago now!!
