Hello All.
I am quite confused, if someone may help me. Many of you are mentioning that your certificates needed to be mailed to you AFTER ceremony/oath. May I ask, were your ceremonies/oaths in person, or virtual? The Canada.ca website states that the certificate will be given at the end of the ceremony (when done in person), so this is a little confusing that people are waiting for their certificate to be mailed to them after the ceremony/oath if they were done in person. Many of the posts are indicating which office they did their ceremony which leads me to believe there were done in person. Is the office indicated even if the ceremony/oath was a virtual one? I just assumed any mention of which office the oath was done was in person.
For virtual, the invitation mentions which office is going to conduct the ceremony. All the instructions will be in the invitation email attachment.
Just to add info and context here, I did the interview/document check in person on the July 14 in person (initially applied in 2019, did my test online in 2020, it's been a LONG wait and slow process to get to this point)......
After the interview/document check, I was congratulated and was told I will receive notice soon for the ceremony/oath, and that I must be present in Canada for the ceremony/oath. Indeed, I received notice that my ceremony/oath will be August 23, however there is no indication whether or not it is in person or virtual. NOTE: when I did my interview, many people were performing their ceremonies/oaths in person in the same general rooms where I was waiting. (Scarborough office)
So in summary, my question is, if my ceremony/oath is in person, when will I receive the certificate? The Canada.ca website indicates it is given at the end of the ceremony/oath. But, many people on this forum are indicating that they have been waiting for certificates to be mailed to them, so I ask, were those ceremonies in person or were they virtual?
thanks everyone, and good luck to all.
