Do be prepared for the potential of a very large medical bill though if you are not covered for health insurance. I would say 10-15K is a good starting point.
yes, the child will be a citizen. If you do not have medical coverage for labour and delivery and any complications that may arise, you can expect to pay a good amount for the baby to be born. Be clear about that fact that the child being born in Canada will have no bearing on your ability to stay as the childs citizenship can't help you to immigrate for atleast 21 years after the child is born.
