- I applied for family ( 2 Adults, 3 Minors) -- Application reached on 3rd Novemver
- Got all applications back today
- Only application of my wife is rejected because proof of language proficiency we sent , IELTS (acedemic), is not accepted as valid proof
- Immigration officer labelled all other four returned applications as complete and asked to send them back when I get the valid proof of language proficiency for my wife

For myself, I sent Canadian Langue Benchmark Assessment (CLB) sheet and that was accepted as they declared my application complete and did not mention any discrepancy in it. Please note that my CLB assessment was first assessment with them and I never took LINC or CLIC course as my initial score was above 7.

Today I called Immigration Services Calgary to book CLB test for my wife. They told me that CLB test result is not considered as valid proof for citizenship application. It is only valid for people who initially get below 4 in CLB assessment ----> then completes LINC or CLIC course ----> retake CLB assessment and get above 4. And if someone takes CLB assessment for the first time and get 8, for example, in all four segments --this person needs to take third party language proficiency test [CELPIP-G or IELTS -General ] to apply for citizenship

When I told to lady that it has already been accepted in my case--- she was of the opinion that immigration officer may have missed or overlooked it in my case.I just want to double check with forum members:

1- Is there anyone who took CLB assessment -- got required score for citizenship in first attempt --- never took LINC or CLIC course ---sent this result with citizenship application and got accepted? CIC website is not very explicit on it.

2- When I will be re-sending applications, should I just mail all five applications as- it-is after adding the valid proof of Language proficiency for my wife? OR I need to fill and print all application forms and presence calculator again?

Thanks
Why don't you take IELTS General?

This is in ideal situation, some people do not update the document.
Also, some of the applications are returned which takes a while to update the document.
Take a look on the other months in the spreadsheet. AOR received percentages are close to 100 %.

Percentages of people not updating AOR received status or returned applications percentages are negligible.

Just spoke to a CIC agent, he said you are in the back log or something, it's like you sent the application 5 days ago!!! I don't understand what does it mean but he said call us back in Jan-Feb if you did not hear back. He said they're too busy with appellations of OCT 19th.
Isn't this ridicules? Mine was delivered on 13th and they have no time for it?

hi
It's been a week since I received my AOR, but my husband hasn't received it yet, his ecas says: Application received October 19TH (same date as mine), buth nothing of AOR, any suggestion of what we should do?

Thank you

Hi, does anybody know if the status in ECAS changes when they receive your application before getting AOR?

App delivered on 16th Oct and no AOR, and when i check ECAS with my UCI, it says 'We are unable to identify you'.

So just curious if it should change or can you get AOR even if it doesn't as some people in the forum have mentioned that an error like that means they haven't even opened the application.
No, until you receive AOR, you will not be able to find your application on ECAS.

I am sure he also received AOR when you did, maybe his email got deleted or did not make it through to you somehow. You are only able to see your application online when it has been accepted and entered and that is the AOR process. Good luck to you both.

Hi all,

I am an October 16 applicant and I just signed up although I have been closely following threads here. I have not received my AOR yet and my application is not returned either. But after looking at two posts about returned applications from October 16 applicants today, I am kind of feeling that maybe my application is on the way to return also. I am saying this because for q11 where were you physically located, I put my home address instead of work address (I was not too sure about it when I applied and still I find it very confusing to ask it this way). I was not sure if this was trivial or not but now I think it was not. I can't find anywhere else where I might have made a mistake.

My gut feeling is that for those 12, 13, 16 applicants who still have not received AOR, the applications might be on the way for returning. After all, there are many signs of it and CIC uses regular mail to return our applications and who knows how long it will take to be delivered. So I will give it another 2 weeks at most and will send my application again if I don't hear back. Some questions to ask:

- What does everyone think about putting home address instead of work address for q11? Is it not trivial? Did anyone make the same mistake and still got AOR?
- Also, for two of the contacts in q11, I didn't have phone number in one case and email address in the other so I put NA instead of letting them be blank. Was this also problematic?
- If I apply again, does the eligibility period changes? Do I have to produce a new physical presence form?
- For q11, where were you physically located, it is for sure the work address right?

Thank you all very much.

Let's wish for the best.

For question 11, i put my home adress and i received my AOr. My wife as well did the same and received Aor. So i don't think that it could be a reason to return your application. Q11 could be your home, your work, your school...

Hi, as mentioned numerous times before, receiving AOR does not mean that we filled the forms correctly. They only do basic completeness checks in Sydney and as long as all the questions are answered, signed and dated, they send out the AOR.

The local case processing center would be the judge of whether the information we provided is satisfactory and accurate or not.
