Hi, I gave my citizenship test on february 16. Passes the test. My ECAS status is still in process. Everybody I knew that gave test around that time are getting oath date. Anyone else in this situation?

Thanks everyone for best wishes and support.

Everything you sent to CIC with your application.

When you come to this appointment, you must bring with you:
- This notice;
- 2 pieces of personal identification, one of which has your photograph and signature on it; (e.g. driver's license, health card, Permanent Resident Card, etc.); Note: minors are not required to show identification with a signature.
- All your original documents that support your citizenship application (as listed in the document checklist in the citizenship application form);
- Permanent Resident Card (if you have ever received one);
- All passports and travel documents in your possession (current and expired).

@thegentleman Just the documents right? Not the copies of application forms. Correct? Because I dont think I have a copy of application forms I sent out.

Ive been assuming DM means approved. I guess that’s not always the case though... What a cruel waiting game :(

While DM is NOT always approval for the grant of citizenship, it would be extremely unusual for it to not be an approval for any reason the applicant is NOT already aware of. In other words, an applicant should easily know if there is much if any prospect that IRCC will deny the application.

So, generally, for the applicant who is qualified (including no prohibitions) and has made no misrepresentations in the application, DM almost certainly means the application is approved. Actual scheduling of the oath can vary greatly and can vary widely due to circumstances in the local office or prospective venue for the ceremony or availability of a Citizenship Judge to preside or other circumstances unrelated to the individual applicant. Thus, no worry. Patience is the order of the day. And as local offices manage to process the huge surge in applications that have arrived in the last six months, there is bound to be some delay for more than a few. Again, patience is the order of the day.

Quick question group, if you log in after AOR and your mailing address stated on your profile is different from what you submitted on your documents but it's an address from your PR application and you no longer utilize this address what do you do?! Do you wait for them to update based on new application or do you change address on your profile? Thanks for your responses.

Discover Canada is the only official study guide that you need to read multiple times to prepare for the test. There are online practice tests that can help you grasp the material better, but they do not represent the actual test very well.

It was exactly like that with my application. I didn't do anything, as the PR mailing address is still OK too.

The IRCC didn't update the mailing address in the ecas, but they use the new mailing address anyway when they sent the test invite.

So if you're lazy you don't need to do anything. If you want to play safe, you need to change the address by yourself online, IRCC won't do that.

London office is EXTREMELY slooooow. In process since Dec 21st!!!

Regina, in process since Dec 9th! No update at all! Very simple applicant :(
I guess I am the only one from this location, poor me!

Hey all, I have a question.

The Oath ceremony letter states the below:

"Pursuant to paragraph 13.2(1)(b) of the Citizenship Act, if you can not appear and take the Oath at the above date, time, and place, you must contact IRCC within thirty (30) days of the date of your appointment and provide a reasonable explanation for not attending."

The paragraph 13.2(1)(b) is below and states an application will be treated as abandoned if the below occurs:

"in the case of an applicant who must take the oath
of citizenship to become a citizen, if the applicant fails,
without reasonable excuse, to appear and take the
oath at the time and at the place — or at the time and
by the means — specified in an invitation from the
Minister."

THE QUESTION:

In this scenario, what is the meaning of 'within thirty (30) days'? Does it mean 30 days before the appointment or 30 days after the appointment? For example, if someone's Oath ceremony date is April 30th and they need to change their date, do they need to contact IRCC between April 1st and April 30th or between April 30th and May 29th?

Would appreciate your input.
