I called IRCC but couldn't reach to the Call center rep.

I have a dilemma, now that its already in progress, should i send new forms with an attached letter reference to my file number or let it process with the old forms and wait until its requested (or hopefully not). Someone mentioned on another forum that they were told by IRCC call center rep that they will accept the old forms till January and i dont want to complicate things by sending additional documents thats not required by them YET.

I would probably wait till I get a notice from them..why complicate it if it's not asked for.. but that's just my opinion..

The only concern here you need to worry about is that they might return the application once they find out you are using the old ones. My advice is to keep calling the call center to get a confirmation that they will accept the old forms till January 2018. Don't reply on information provided in this form as you never the story behind it. But in all cases, fill out the new forms and keep them ready to file them at any point.

Appreciate your input on this, but i was in the impression that once AOR is received, IRCC doesnt return the file unless someone misrepresented a document or information, but rather will ask for missing/required documents which in result might delay the overall processing.

here is my take based on some posts i read on this forum. CIC is not treating Oct 11 signed date as a strict cutover date. In other words, if someone sent old forms with signed date of Oct 11-12, they are processing it under old rules (as long you have completed 1460 or whatever days which was the old rule). Basically giving the people the benefit of doubt that they may have forgotten/ missed getting the updated forms. This is very understandable if thats the case.

so my advice will be let your application process, dont do anything unless CIC gets back to you. I dont think you care whether its under old or new rules, as long as you get citizenship.

Thank you for your response, I am inclined towards waiting as well. I am not sure if i am correct on this but once the paper file is received the file and the data is transferred to an E-file and the E-file is forwarded to the local processing centre and the paper file stays in Sydney for records. If this is the case once all data is entered in the E-file, it doesn't matter whether the data came from old form or new forms. But again thats my opinion and i am believing in it to make me feel better and get a good night sleep. LOL

Appreciate your input, the residency requirement i attached was according to the new calculator which counted the days i spent before becoming PR.(thats the only calculator available that time). They mentioned in the AOR that my file was received on or after C6 came into implementation so it will be processed according to new rules.

it may have been that the officer made a mistake by not sending the package back as the forms and calculator were inconsistent (one old and other new). you may be drawing attention if you now call and make them aware. there is no *good* advice. if i were you, i would keep mum.

Almost in similar boat. My PR expiring in Sep 2018.
I am planning to wait till June or early July if I can get test date by that time. Otherwise I will apply for renewal

I think you should wait till April - May and see the how fast files are moving. In case you have any travel plan after August than I will suggest don't take risk and apply for renewal

good luck

Good to hear from you and yes, we are in the same boat.
I guess I will wait to see how things going, I don't have any travel plan in 2018 unless may be in US. In that case I will renew it for sure.
Good luck

I am not from Saskatoon, I am from Regina. But all Sask applicant has Saskatoon office to deal with.
Shame on Regina, being a provincial capital they have no guts. In many cases.
