Citizenship Applications after Bill C-6

Hi everyone,

I did my Citizenship test on February 23 and my application is still in process. I currently work remotely as a freelancer and I'd like to go to Mexico for 2 months. Should I wait until I get my DM and Oath Ceremony invite date (knowing that this could take weeks or months) or should I leave and then come back for my oath ceremony once I receive the date?

On one hand, I don't want to book a ticket and leave the country, only to have to return a week or so later (assuming that I get my oath invite soon). On the other hand, I don't want to sit around and wait for possibly months for my oath date when I could be in Mexico.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Hi all,

For those who applied for their kids, did the child’s status changed to Decision Made when your status changed to DM? My status and my wife’s is DM but my son’s still shows In Process. He is 10 and was not require to pass the test. Maybe they will change his status at the same time they will send the letter for the ceremony? Anyone with experience on this?

Then give it a time, you're a bit dangerous people, they need to check you properly before granting you Citizenship ,

Mine was delivered on 21st Oct...we won’t be getting anything this week as they are having sessions in Regina till Friday, I am expecting something next week
