Thanks Razer !! Does ecas status change to test invite ?
Another line shows up in the status stating you've been invited for the test along with date/time, but no location. This is based on what I've read on this forum many times.

ECAS also has the following information:

Status of your application

RECEIVED

(A decision has not been made yet.)

Application Received
Your application has been received at the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Citizenship and Immigration Canada officials will review your application and the required documents and citizenship fees to ensure they meet the minimum processing requirements.

IN
PROCESS

(A decision has not been made yet.)

Application In Process
Your file has been sent to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) office closest to your home for processing.

The CIC office will complete the necessary steps for a citizenship officer or citizenship judge to make a decision on your application. If additional information or documents are needed, the CIC office will contact you.

If you are between the ages of 14 and 64, you will have to meet the knowledge and language requirements for citizenship. The citizenship test will determine if you meet the knowledge requirements for citizenship. You will be notified by mail about the time and place of your test. Adult applicants who are 65 years old or older are not required to take the citizenship test.

An interview with a citizenship officer or citizenship judge may also be required. Should this be necessary, you will be notified by mail about the time and place of your interview.

Application Withdrawn
If you wish to withdraw your application, you must advise us before a decision on your application has been made.

DECISION
MADE

(A decision has been made at this point.)

Applicant Notified
You will be notified by mail about the decision on your citizenship application.

If you meet the requirements, you will be invited to a citizenship ceremony where you will take the oath of citizenship and receive a certificate of Canadian citizenship.

If you do not meet the requirements, you will be informed in writing.

I don't think we should give anyone a hard time as I do understand that the system is broken since it's very unfair to process people ahead of you. As mention before, the only way this can be done faster/better is electronically and technology is moving rapidly so I personally have high hopes on this in the future.

However, I don't get why people are rushing to get their citizenship? Is there a common reason for this? I mean PR was probably my #1 priority since I probably would have had to leave the country which would have made me paranoid back then.

Also, the government push this back so that you can apply earlier. How many people actually couldn't apply until next year? This is like a bonus! I personally couldn't apply until probably in June 2018 and I never rushed it since I am a November applicant. Even though I was following the previous forum about bill-c6 and I could have applied in October.

I have family who have been here longer than me and don't have citizenship and I probably won't rush for mine either unless someone has a good enough reason as to why I need it ASAP.

But when I do get it (hopefully), I will be a happy guy :)

Hi,

I am wondering if I need to translate the stamps on my passport as I have stamps not in English or French.

I know that is was a requirement before, but I am not sure if this has been changed recently

Thanks,

Well as per the following link you must send the translation as part of your application
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-0533-application-resume-canadian-citizenship-canadian-armed-forces.html

But many people who don't, bring it to their test since the stamps are checked then and the officer might or might not ask for them.
I don't see anything mentioning the stamps on the passport. I personally find that an overkill.

Yup..I agree. I'm a May applicant (already a citizen now) and have read hundreds of posts so far since then coz my family's citizenship is in process still- I'm only telling you other people's experiences. Some people have required stamp translations while some lucky ones didn't. Ones who required it had a bit of a process delay. If I had some stamps needing translated, I would just go for it just to be on the safe side. It's completely on you ofcourse how you want to it. Good Luck!
