hello, I just want to confirm. I am done with my citizenship exam and passed. Still waiting for my oath taking date.

Can I leave the country while my citizenship is in progress? Which means I am waiting for my ceremony and application of Canadian passport. Also, I have my PR card (not expired).
Thanks so much!

Inform them through webform. There is a chance that is they do not process your message and send the oath letter before that, then you might miss the letter and oath (depending on how long you will be away).

Thank you for the response!

Just to clarify, I plan to travel outside the country after my oath ceremony. Would I still be able to come back here in Canada with my PR card?

Thanks!

No, once you take the Oath you are a Canadian citizen and the PR card is no longer valid.
I believe I have read here on the forum that you can cross land borders using the citizenship certificate, but that for flying/other means of transportation you have to have a Canadian passport to enter.

When did you take your test and how long will you be gone?

Yep that's why they take away your PR card before you take oath.

Cheers,
Thank you for this information! This is helpful. I’m just wondering if I can still travel outside Canada once done with ceremony.

I took the test last July 5th. Date for my trip is unknown. Reason is, I want to make sure first if I can travel outside Canada after my ceremony.

Thank for the response!

As I said, I have read here that you can cross LAND borders using your citizenship certificate. To cross by any other means, you would need to wait for your passport.

I'd think it's safer to wait until you get your passport to plan any trips after your oath (if possible), especially because you don't know when the oath might be.

Yes, I’m just going to wait for my oath letter before I go for a trip.
Do you have idea on how long will it take for me to receive the oath letter? I took the exam on July 5th 2018.

Thanks!

When is your trip. There are people who are waiting for months even after Decision Made status. If anyone asks me for advice regarding citizenship application, the first thing I'd say is DO NOT RELY on your citizenship application to be in certain status for making travel plans. Consider each possibility and have a plan for every possibility so that you dont get burnt later.
