Hi everyone.
Does anyone know if it's okay to apply for citizenship even if my passport is not valid?
And when I say not valid I mean, it's damaged.
Backstory:
I am a PR and now eligible to apply for citizenship since I got here on October 2014 as landed immigrant.
I only went out of the country once to visit US for a week and came back, never left since.
My passport got damaged last summer and I didn't had the chance to replace it.
I have valid documents such as PR Card, Landing Papers and a driver's license.
I have 2 options right now.
1. Apply for my native passport to be replaced , pay the fees, wait another 2 months and apply for citizenship. OR
2. Apply for citizenship directly (if the don't need my passport)
Thanks for the help!
