Hi everyone,

A question for seniors here. I have an unaccompanied daughter living with my ex in my first country. I am in the process of submitting my citizenship application next month, and am somehow confused as to documentation to be included for her in my application. I did included her in my PR application as unaccompanied child even though she did her medical with me in 2009.

Please advise whether to include her school records or not in my citizenship application.

Thanks,

Olabisi

1. If she never "landed" as Permanent resident, you can't include in your application. If she is not in Canada, you can't included her in your application.

But it's good that she was declared and examined in the PR application process, since you will retain the right to sponsor her in the future (until she is 19). If a dependent is undeclared in the PR process they are barred from ever being sponsored in the future.

Thank you so much, PMM. Your inputs here had really clear my doubts.

Thanks eileenf for the heads up regarding the maximum age allowed to sponsor a dependant child. Rules are changing fast these days.
