Hello all,
I have been on this forum for about few months just browsing and stuff. I finally decided to join because of an update on my application, which I sent back in January, 2014. Below is the timeline.
We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 13, 2014.
We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 13, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
We started processing your application on March 5, 2014.
We sent you a letter on May 12, 2014. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the letter before sending us additional information, as the letter will outline all information that is required. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
(Okay, so I received this letter from CIC indicating that I should inform them about my Marital Status. It mentioned that It was "Omitted" from my application. This confuses me because, I clearly remember mentioning my marital status as (never married). Anyway, as far as I know my file is still at Sydney processing center. Have any of you received such notification/letter(s) before? Does this mean that my file will be transferred to the local office after I send this letter? Is there still hope for 5-6 months processing times?
My local office is Scarborough. Any response is much appreciated.
