Hi all,
I wanted to share my timeline. Still waiting.

Landed 22/9/2007.
Left Canada between December 2007-June 2008 to complete gathering my things and come back here.
Since June 2008 until today I was here except for 2 months of vacation abroad in 2010.
Applied for my citizenship from Montreal August 2 2011 after carefully calculating my residency requirements.
Received an acknowledgment letter, together with Discover Canada booklet about a month later.
Since then my status online is "Received". It's been about 15 months and they didn't even start processing my papers.
All my friends received their citizenship in around 11-12 months.

I've being studying in the university and working all this time. I live alone, no family.
So I'd think my case should be really simple, but then, hell who knows?

Processing time cases between April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012 is 21 month and it doesn't mean that they are sticking by it ,patience is the cure as long as you don't receive a RQ .

I applied through the Quebec City office which has been closed, so I wil now be processed through Montreal also.

My timeline is : Sent application beginning of October 2011, Received Acknowledgement letter and booklet beginning of November 2011. It recently just said received on Ecas, but when I called last week I was told that it shows in Process on her their end, but they did not say as of when it is in process. It seems from other sites that montreal is working on Jan-Feb applications 2011, but there are some from 2010 who are still waiting also.

Montreal has one of the longest processing times. Many people are approaching the 24 month mark without taking their oath yet, so don't worry you are in the normal timeline for Montreal. There are other offices that are only 11 or 12 months for the entire process.

I will post any developments on my end.
Good luck

I applied from Montreal in October 2011, got the acknowledgement letter on November. Online status only says application received. One thing different for me is I moved to Toronto early 2012. So don't know if this makes any difference.

Well, my feeling is that if they know you have moved then they will send your application to the relevant office, whichever is that for Toronto. But if they already started processing your papers then maybe that will cause some delays until they transfer your application from the office that has started processing to the "right one".
But these are my speculations only.

My status hadn't changed, still "received". :'(

I have a question, how much time do you think it might take an application from "we started processing" until an invitation to ceremony?
6 months? 9 months? A year?

I mean, for me it's been already 18 months since I've applied and only by the end of October 2012 they've started processing my application (which doesn't imply that they've sent my papers to the local office).
And it seems most people here are experiencing similar delays, which makes me wonder how is CIC able to finish most applications within the 21 months period?!
